Erik Peters graduated from the University of Virginia in 1991 and is a 1994 graduate of the University of Houston Law Center, where he served as Assistant Candidates Editor on the Houston Journal of International Law. After law school, Erik practiced law in Texas for five years. He worked as a prosecutor for the Texas Department of Public Safety in San Antonio and later at the Law Offices of Richard B. Geiger, a firm in Austin that represented the subrogation interests of major insurance carriers.

After moving to Maine, Erik started a company providing legal research and writing to Portland-area law firms. After being admitted to the Maine bar in 2001, he worked for Kline Law Offices, where he specialized in labor and employment law, workers’ compensation defense, and commercial litigation. He is admitted to practice in Maine and Texas and joined Friedman Gaythwaite Wolf & Leavitt in 2004.

Erik lives in Falmouth with his wife Betsy and son Max. In his free time, he enjoys alpine and telemark skiing, hiking and kayaking.
